Baby Boy Outfit

This is my baby boy's church outfit.  After looking and never being able to find something dressy for him to wear, I found this idea on the blog Shwin & Shwin. And so I made my own.  I followed Shwin & Shwin's great pattern for the shoes. And I made my own pattern for the pants.
For the shoes, I followed the pattern she gives for 0-3 months.  But, I found that they were still a little big for my 7 week old baby, so I cut and sewed off more fabric from the toe.  You can see that because of this, mine turned out a little different.  But I still love them!  (Although next time I make some, I'll have to press and iron them- woops!)
I made a simple bow tie and sewed it onto a onesie.  However, another great idea is to use sew on snaps. Sew one side to the onesie and one side to the bow.  That way you could make multiple bow ties and change them with each wear.
Corduroy turned out to be great material for baby pants.  For a tutorial on how to make them, click here.  The fabric is mostly wrinkle free and it is so soft that my baby boy can wear these pants and still easily wiggle his legs.

  1. This is so cute! Did you make the corduroy pants yourself? Do you have the pattern for that?

  4. I love the bowtie idea! So cute! I never knew what to have Micah wear to church as a baby because they seriously don't make anything dressy for baby boys. Frustrating! I'm so impressed you made all that!
