Nautical Frames

A few days ago my sister Megan had a great idea to paint frames.  My cousins Karen and Jill are staying with us for a few days, so we decided it would be a perfect time to all paint frames together.  We went to Michael's and bought all of the supplies.  There were so many fun wooden things to paint there that I had a hard time deciding what to buy.  But once I saw the wooden palm tree, I thought it would be fun to paint something Florida-ish for our new home!

Tyler and I love the Nautical theme so I thought a Nautical themed bathroom would be sooo cute.  I want to make a blue and white shower curtain and these fames will be perfect for the bathroom too!

First I took all of the frames and put masking tape around the mirrors.  Then I painted them all white - 3 or 4 times over.

For the first frame, I took the tape and put pieces all around it so that only a small amount of white was showing on the edges.  Then I painted it navy blue.

It was really fun to then take the tape off and see the white and blue together!

For the second frame, I put vertical stripes of tape all down the frame.  I painted it, took the tape off for cute white and navy blue stripes.

And for the third frame, I painted stripes again, but horizontal ones.

I bought all of these cute little wooden things that remind me of the beach and painted them.

Then I just used some wood glue to glue them all on to the frames and..... voila!  Cute frames for our new bathroom!
